Mental Health Minute is Back!
Hi!
It’s been almost 3 years since my last post! In that time:
my family moved halfway across the country (from Fargo, North Dakota to the Boston area)
then, we moved halfway across town a year later
I started a new job when I first moved and then another new one (that I love!) in a company that provides evidence-based treatments for eating disorders
I wrote a new book that will be out in July —currently available for pre-order: The Suicidal Thoughts Guided Journal: CBT Practices to Soothe Emotional Pain, Build Coping Skills, and Find Hope.
With all that and more going on, there wasn’t much time for newsletter writing. However, I remain as committed as ever to sharing science-informed mental health tools with as many people as possible.
Connecting with you all about mental health through my past writing and podcasts has meant the world to me. I’m excited to restart this newsletter with weekly-ish explorations of psychology in culture, current events, and entertainment. All of my posts are designed to be brief for busy people who want science-informed therapy tools you can use in your daily life.
Thank you for reading and for your support—I’m SO grateful.
❤️Katie
P.S. Many thanks to Icon & Ink for the new Mental Health Minute graphic! I’m feeling nostalgic, so I included images from the past podcasts I co-hosted (Psychodrama with my good friend, Leo Bobadilla and Jedi Counsel with my good friend, Brandon Saxton) in case that’s how we connected—you might notice some similar elements represented in the new graphic.
